ItThis wedding was a special one for us. I have known Kouyo for almost 10 years now. Brenna and I both used to work with him at Best Buy. I have to say thanks to him for getting me out the front lanes and into the camera department. I have always been heavily into taking photos, but getting into that department made me learn so much. This helped us get to where we are to day photo wise. Kaitlyn and Kouyo are perfect together.
The wedding and reception was held at Cold Creek Farm in Dawsonville, Georgia.
Brenna found a couch for free a few months back and we finally had a chance to use it! It went so well with the brides theme. Kaitlyn was nothing short of stunning. She had that 50s vintage/rockabilly/pinup vibe going on. Her dress was a killer style only she could pull off. Kouyo’s pacific style went so well with his mothers traditional Kimono. His parents flew in Japan for the wedding. We had a torrential down pour right before the wedding, but you can't tell because the sun came out almost immediately. Thank goodness!
Their first dance was to “Baby I Want You” by Amos Lee.
Between the dances with the parents, Kouyo had a special dance with his two daughters. It was such a sweet experience.
After cake and dancing the couple headed off to Mexico for their honeymoon.
We wish the best of luck to you four! We couldn’t have had more fun capturing the day!
This session was different altogether.
Sarah's pup, Slugger, was recently diagnosed with cancer of the nerves.
They are only giving him 3-6 months to live. Slugger is a rescue dog that Sarah saved in college. He has been by her side through all of college, marriage, and now even her first born, Sully. He is one of the sweetest pups. She wanted to have one more big family shoot. Her wish was granted. Not only that, I also did a double shoot. Andres served with Steve. Andres, Danae, and their son Landon were in town for Chicago visting. I squeezed in a family shoot for them, too. This is the first family session they have had since Landon was born. Now she is expecting baby number 2! Fortunately, you cannot tell the day was super hot! Poor Sarah had a crazy day before the shoot. Sully actually got stung on the cheek right before the session began. Half way through, the pups jumped into the pretty murky pond. What else would a dog want to do when they are hot? Regaurdless, I feel like if I didn't tell you these small details, you probably wouldn't have noticed in the slightest. Take a look!
This mother/daughter session was a special one. My friend Eric painted his interpretation of a portrait of Nick and I for his birthday. In return, I would do a session with Jami and Makenzie. I would say it was a great trade. Jami & Makenzie were such a delight to work with. We had a lot of fun doing this shoot.
Sope Creek trail just might be my new favorite spot for photos.
This was my second shoot Saturday, and also my second time working with this beautiful family. I did their photos back in the fall which you can see here. Reed & Emrey have grown so much in the past 7 months.
We had to reschedule this shoot a few times but I am so glad we did because we couldn't have asked for such a better day or weather! Berry College is such a beautiful campus.
This little family was such a delight to work with. They were the first of two shoots I had Sunday.
We met at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. It is such a beautiful campus! So much going on all the time. It's just as pretty in the summer as it is in the fall. They have a wildlife refuge and there are sooooo many deer and fawn running around. It was pretty cool.
